The security every founder should demand from their tools

When you raise, you hand strangers a window into your finances, your metrics and your roadmap. That trust deserves infrastructure built to protect it. Yet many founders share sensitive materials over channels with no controls at all.
At a minimum, insist on encryption in transit and at rest. Your documents should be unreadable both while moving across the network and while sitting on disk. This is table stakes, not a premium feature.
Next, demand granular access controls. You should decide exactly who can view each document, and be able to revoke access the moment a conversation ends. A shared link that lives forever is a liability.
Finally, ask for a full audit trail. Knowing who opened your deck, and when, is not just security — it is signal. Engagement data tells you which investors are serious long before they say so.
